Graduating
This mark is the result of the sum of the score achieved by the candidate, through the calculation of the weighted average of the exams taken during the degree course, and the mark awarded by the Commission. The Commission can attribute a maximum of 8 points or 7 points cum laude. The awarding of laude is discussed by the members of the Commission if the candidate reaches a score of 110/110 (without having used the full points available, i.e. 8) and several aspects of the student's previous career are considered (e.g. having obtained honors in profit exams), of the internship and of the presentation/discussion; honors are awarded when the Commission unanimously expresses a favorable opinion. For students who have done their thesis work entirely abroad, the Commission may, on the basis of comments received from the foreign head of the laboratory and on the basis of the quality of the work done, award up to 2 additional points.
To be admitted to the final exam, students must do the following:
- upload a digital copy of the thesis in PDF/A format by accessing - from UNIMIA -> SIFA Online Services -> Administrative services -> graduation application -> Thesis upload. You cannot apply for graduation without uploading the thesis within the deadline.
- Create a PDF/A file of your thesis starting from a Word or LibreOffice document (follow instructions on the video tutorial).
- Deliver one paper copy of your thesis following the instruction of your course programme.
Use Microsoft Office 2016 Powerpoint, or later versions, to prepare your dissertation presentation.
The computer in the Malliani room, as in other classrooms, is equipped with the following software:

- Office documents: Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
